March 6, 2000 - Day Two

Ramy remains officially in 7th place. He dropped one of his dogs, Loopin, in Rainy Pass. Ramy remains upbeat and is very happy with his dogs performance

[Correction: Ramy was actually switching Walker from one position to another and accidentally let go of him while he was untangling someone else. He remained in the harness] One of Ramy's dogs slipped out of the harness this afternoon. Ramy spent 20 minutes trying to catch him before fellow musher Tim Osmar came along and helped Ramy catch him. Now that's sportsmanship - Thanks Tim!!

Apparently Mitch Seavey broke his sled on the way into Rainy Pass and will have to wait for a replacement to be flown in. Dee Dee had a 7 hour break in Finger Lake and blew through Rainy Pass at 6:20 pm. She and Paul Gebhardt are the only two mushers out of Rainy Pass.

Ramy arrived in Rainy Pass at 2:37 this afternoon, 30 minutes behind Doug Swingley. Gebhardt, King, Seavey and Swenson were all there ahead of him, but we don't believe that any of them have had the rest that Ramy and Doug have had. Check back here late this evening for pictures from Rainy Pass.
