Unalakleet Post Office

Here's a shot of the Unalakleet Post Office from the side. The blowing snow can drift upt 8 or 9 feet against the sides of buildings, very similar to sand dunes crawling across a road.

Sledding

The area immediately around Unalakleet is realatively flat..there are some larger hills but they are several miles away. Behind the dog shelter, local kids take advantage of a short bank to do some sledding.

Autograph

For the kids of Unalakleet this is like having the Super Bowl come to town. Despite my objections that I wasn't a musher, many kids insisted on getting my autograph - Title, Ramy's Cousin :-)

Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky....uh, make that John Seibel, Superstation Sports Reporter signs autographs.

Delta on the Yukon

I loved the patterns that the Yukon makes as it winds its way to the ocean

White Alice

This is a little out of the subject area, but you find all kinds of cool things spread out across Alaska. The little round object just off the wingtip is a White Alice site near Takotna.

White Alice

Shaped like a giant golf ball, White Alice was an advanced Early Warning System built by the military to warn the U.S. in advance of a missile attack. Takotna is only four or five hundred miles away from the former Soviet Union.

Sleep

Ramy's team sleeps in preparation for the final push.

Sleep

While their friend and master does the same.
