Ramy
talks to fans at his starting place. Ramy's designated set up place
is on H Street, away from the "main drag" of mushers so
it is a little less crazy.

Ramy's
daughter Abbey is on hand to help her daddy however she can. |

Showing
off the special sled Ramy borrowed to use for the ceremonial start.
This is a classic Arctic coast freight sled. They aren't as fast
as race sleds, and they weight over 200 pounds, while race sleds
weight 30 pounds. The sled allows Ramy to show off his Native heritage.
